Please remember that balloon flights are strictly weather dependent. We require calm surface winds in order to launch and land the balloon safely. The wind direction needs to be favourable in order to avoid flying into restricted air space, and avoid obstacles such as built up areas, mountains etc. If we are forced to cancel a flight due to weather conditions, please understand that this is for your safety, as well as for the safety our pilots and crew members, and to avoid any damage to the balloon. It is not unusual for flights to be postponed due to the weather – this could be due to fast upper winds (which may not be visible from the ground), mist, cloud cover, poor visibility, rain and thunderstorms in the near vicinity, or a wind direction which may pose a hazard to the safe landing of the balloon. The pilot’s decision is final. We will never under any circumstances force a flight. Please keep this in mind for special occasions, and ensure you have a backup plan in place for proposals, surprise gifts etc. We are able to offer gift certificates valid for 12 months in the event that a flight cannot take place on a particular day.
WHAT TO WEAR
It is best to dress in casual, comfortable clothes. Natural fibres such as cotton are preferable to synthetic fabrics such as nylon. Please do not wear white clothes or shoes as you will be landing on a farm and it will be dusty or muddy. Long pants such as jeans and old, closed shoes are best. You will need to climb in and out of the balloon basket – skirts and dresses make this very difficult. Please no high heels, open sandle type shoes or flip flops. You can wear something warm to begin with, but it will get warmer once in the air due to the radiant heat from the burners. It is advisable to wear a hat or cap, to shield your head from the heat of the burners. Ladies with long hair, please ensure it is tied back securely.

Please bring your booking confirmation with you for check-in. This document contains directions and important telephone numbers in the event that you require assistance on the morning. Please feel free to bring your camera and binoculars. These will need to be tucked away in your jacket during landing.
